Main tasks
Our Department of Health Economics and Health Services Research is part of the interdisciplinary Hamburg Centre for Health Economics (HCHE) at the University of Hamburg and welcomes you to join us.
You can expect a varied range of tasks within an interdisciplinary team within a positive working environment.
Your tasks:
- Research in the area of health economics (e.g., the economic aspects of mental healthcare, cost and cost-effectiveness analyses) based on survey and health insurance data or cohort studies
- Publication of research results in international journals
- Presentation of research results at national and international conferences
- Opportunity to participate in the DFG Graduate Programme “Managerial and economic dimensions of health care quality”
This position is initially limited for three years and to be filled with 75% of the regular weekly working hours in accordance with the WissZeitVG and due to third-party funding.
Your Profile
- A university degree in the field of health economics, economics, econometrics, epidemiology, statistics or a comparable qualification. Applicants should belong to the best students within their cohort and be methodologically strong.
- Interest in research topics related to health economics and health services research
- Independence, critical thinking, flexibility, teamwork, high motivation and an interest in research
- A sound theoretical knowledge of statistical methods in fields such as cost-effectiveness analysis, econometrics and regression analysis
- Ideally, practical experience in applying the methods mentioned
- Proficient use of at least one statistical software package (ideally Stata; otherwise, for example: SAS, R, SPSS)
- Proficiency in English
- German at B1-level
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
