Main tasks

The Renné Laboratory at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) investigates molecular mechanisms of translational thromboinflammation, with a particular focus on the inorganic mediator polyphosphate (polyP). We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to study the roles of polyphosphate in metabolic and thromboinflammatory diseases of high clinical relevance. The project combines ex vivo analyses of polyphosphate metabolism and signalling with in vivo models of thromboinflammation and metabolism.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to grow scientifically within a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment, advancing cutting-edge translational polyphosphate research with strong clinical and mechanistic impact.

 

Contract: 2-year fixed term, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position

Your Profile

  • PhD (or equivalent) in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or a related field
  • Solid background in molecular and cellular biology and ideally hands-on experience with experimental mouse models
  • Expertise in polyphosphate biology is a strong advantage
  • Excellent scientific record, motivation, creativity, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

 

Candidates will be assessed based on education and research experience, publication record and overall track record, scientific motivation and originality, and proven teamwork skills.
