Main tasks

Our Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine looks forward to welcoming you starting February 1, 2025.

The announced position offers an excellent opportunity for scientific growth and collaboration with a dynamic team of researchers focused on key aspects of thromboinflammation.

The research, led by Professor Renné at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), centers on the interplay between coagulation and vascular inflammation. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will investigate the roles of polyphosphate and the contact pathway in thromboinflammatory diseases of high clinical relevance. The research involves ex vivo blood cell function analysis, cellular studies on blood cell responses, and in vivo models of thrombosis and inflammation. Experience in genetics, benign hematology, blood physiology, and animal models is highly desirable.

The position is initially offered as a 2-year fixed-term contract, due to project-related factors, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position.

Your Profile

Applicants must hold a completed scientific university degree in biology, chemistry, medicine, biochemistry, or related life sciences, along with a doctorate/PhD. A strong background in experimental vascular research - particularly in thrombosis and hemostasis, molecular and cellular biology, innate immunity, or imaging - is essential. Candidates will be assessed based on their education, relevant experience, research publications, motivation, scientific achievements, and ability to collaborate effectively.
